Rep for director Hype Williams confirmed much-rumored video for Beyonce’s song.
All week, gossip sites have been abuzz with rumors that two of the fiercest divas in the game — Beyoncé and Lady Gaga — had joined forces on a super-secret video for B’s “Video Phone.”
It was a fairly big deal, and accordingly there’s been much quoting of “insider” sources and “my boy [who] worked as a stylist for [Gaga's] dancers,” but no confirmation from any major contributor to the project — until now.
On Thursday (October 15), a spokesperson for director Hype Williams confirmed to MTV News that that both Beyoncé and Gaga appear in the “Video Phone” clip, which Williams shot last weekend in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood.
Williams’ spokesperson would not confirm any additional information about the “Video Phone” shoot, but, according to Life and Style magazine, security on set was extremely tight, and the video is shaping up to be a fashion bonanza, with Beyoncé wearing “a feathered dress” and Gaga sporting “something wild … the fashion is sick and insane.”
Mirroring the Life and Style report, another source posted on Pulse Music Board that the “Video Phone” clip was shot on a “closed set [with] no cameras or video phones” allowed. Apparently, the video version of the song — which is from Beyoncé’s 2008 I Am … Sasha Fierce album — features B and Gaga trading up-tempo verses, and sees Gaga adding an extra verse to the tune. The clip also features “lots of choreography” and “more dancers than the two girls [Beyoncé is] always with.”

Branching out into the world of television, Lady GaGa was spotted on the set of “Gossip Girl” in New York City yesterday (October 13).
The “Just Dance” diva looked a bit out of it as she made her way past the paparazzi, sporting a pair of circa-1980s sunglasses along with a black veil and a black dress.
As for what role GaGa will be playing on the hit CW teen drama, producers and cast members are keeping the details under wraps.
At the premiere of his new film “The Stepfather” earlier this week, Penn Badgley told press, “Yeah, she’s a part of the threesome — I’m kidding. She’s not, but there is a threesome and there is Lady Gaga, so you gotta keep watching. I don’t want to give away too much, but she will perform a little bit. And it is involved in my story line.”
In her newest interview for Rolling Stone, Madonna opens up about Lady GaGa.
“I see myself in Lady Gaga. When I saw her, she didnt have a lot of money for her production. she’s got holes in her fishnets, and there’s mistakes everywhere. It was kind of a mess, but I can see that she has that IT Factor. It’s nice to see that at a raw stage”
Lady GaGa will be performing at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s 30th anniversary gala in Los Angeles on November 14 with the Bolshoi Ballet and artist Francesco Vezzoli.
Vezzoli says of the upcoming performance:
“They basically offered me a social ritual as a blank canvas to be turned into an artwork. Some artists might see this as a nightmare, but for me it’s like a surreal dream, and in true surreal style I wanted to mix together the youngest and most daring pop icon, Lady GaGa, with the oldest and most classically trained group of dancers in the world, the Bolshoi Ballet…The output will be flawlessly imperfect and unpredictable, just like any overambitious happening should be.”
Unpredictable indeed! This sounds right up GaGita’s performance art alley.
‘The gay community has been the most loyal and wonderful support of not only my career, but as friends to me my entire life,’ Gaga says.
Lady Gaga has long been an outspoken supporter of the LGBT community, proudly discussing her own bisexuality and accepting her Best New Artist VMA with the pronouncement, “It’s for God and for the gays.” This weekend in Washington, D.C., the pop star shared the stage with President Obama at a Human Rights Campaign event on Saturday night and took part in Sunday’s National Equality March.
